2004 - Now

Angie & Andy Shepherd
Principal Euphonium & EEb Bass

Angie's profile
Angie started playing as a member of Cheltenham Silver Band when she was 8 years old. Whilst she wanted to play Euphonium, she had to spend a few months on Baritone before she was able to reach the Euphonium mouthpiece (she isn't much taller now!).

In addition to 8 years with Cheltenham Silver, Angie has also played with Langley (near Birmingham), Lydbrook (6 years) and Cinderford (2 years), as well as spending time conducting Cheltenham Silver. In 2004, Angie joined Tewkesbury Town Band with her husband, Andy, who plays EEb bass.

Angie says that the biggest influence on her playing has been from Lyndon Baglin, who taught her for over 2 years. Whilst she likes solo playing she admits that she is a lazy player [could have fooled us!!] and tries to avoid anything too fast!

Angie really enjoys the social side of the band, rarely missing an opportunity to take a glass or two after band practices. The highlight of her playing career with Tewkesbury to date has been the sight of conductor, Nigel Morgan, impersonating Rolf Harris, singing "Jake the Peg....diddle-iddle-iddle-um!" [she should have seen the Snow White a few years earlier!]

Andy's profile
To follow.

Together, Andy and Angie enjoy being invited to Murder Mystery parties - especially when they have to dress up! As you can see from these pictures, they should be dedicated band members as they put their all in to everything!
