September 2004 - Trom on his Travels!
Bass Trombone player Dan Slater
has decided to move to a band closer to home. Dan has now joined Bilton
Silver (Rugby) Band who are to be promoted to the First Section from January
2005. Dan has been a great member of our Band and we tried hard to find him
a job a little closer when he left uni but failed!! Good luck Dan and we
hope to see you back for a blow soon!

October 2003 - The
Growling Bass Returns!
We are pleased to
welcome Dan Slater back to the ranks of our trombone section. Dan played
bass trombone with us during his work placement year for his degree in 2002.
He has now completed his degree achieving a 2:1, and has found himself a job
at a location near enough to Tewkesbury to allow him to come to practice
with us. It is nice to see that his first experience with us did not scare
him away! Welcome back Dan! |
February
2002 - Dan Slater is
joining us for six months on bass trombone whilst on an Industrial
Placement Sandwich Course working for the RAF at Innsworth before
returning to the University of Sunderland to finish his degree. Dan has
played under the baton of Professor Chris Jeans, former Black Dyke Mills
principle trombone, and Mr. Bob Morton, currently principle horn Carlton
Main Frickley. He has previously played with Youth Brass 2000, Ancient
Order of Foresters, Brass 2000, and Pride Valley Brass. You can see him
(in one of Youth Brass' lovely gold & black waistcoats!) at
www.youthbrass2000.com - news, French tour, some trombones! |
