Just a note from the band to say hi and we're back. A great time was had by all, much beer drank and food consumed...the concerts were great too! Check back in a few days for a full report! |
Our next tour to Germany is to take place from 24 August to 3 September 2002 in order to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Miesbach Music Festival.
The preparations are getting busier as concerts start to get booked!
Proposed Itinerary
| Saturday 24th August | Leave at midday and cross to Calais by 6pm. Then it's the long, 'fun' coach journey all the way to Miesbach! |
| Sunday 25th August | 1pm Arrive Miesbach. Lunch, rehearsal and dinner at the berghof. |
| Monday 26th August | There will be a rehearsal at some time today. Dinner at berghof. Excursion to be arranged to Bad Tolz for shopping and a walk. |
| Tuesday 27th August | AM Visit to brewery at Aying. 2 hour
tour of brewery and beer tasting - mmmmm....
Lunch at berghof. PM Concert at Rottach bandstand on the side of the lake Tegensee (idyllic setting). Formal evening meal by kind invitation of the Mayor of Rottach, Herr Hafner. |
| Wednesday 28th August | AM Concert at Holzchirken. Lunch at
Holzchirken by kind invitation of the mayor, Herr Hoss. Afternoon visit to either; if sunny, the open air water park at Rottach or if wet/cold, swimming at indoor pool at Bad Wiesse. Alternatively, walk around the town and lakesides (cafes and cakes!). Dinner at berghof. |
| Thursday 29th August | Visit to Austria - take passports. Informal concert in Schwatz, a little town in Austria with castle, silver mine and views. Free ride around the silver mine. Continue to Innsbruck for a sightseeing visit. Dinner at berghof. |
| Friday 30th August | AM Visit to Munich. PM Concert at 20th Anniversary Dinner at the berghof. |
| Saturday 31st August | Midday concert at Miesbach 25th
Anniversary Burgerfest in the marketplace. Lots of stalls and food
available. PM Return to berghoff to play at 6oth birthday - guest of Hofers. Burgerfest goes on all day and well into the night. Enjoy! |
| Sunday 1st September | AM Concert at Schliersee (lake)
followed by lunch courtesy of the Mayor. PM Cable car or funicular train ride up the mountain followed by toboggan run down!(or cable car down!). |
| Monday 2nd September | Leave Meisbach at about 10am :o( |
| Tuesday 3rd September | Arrive back to Tewkesbury early morning (to start planning our next tour!!!!). |
