Musical Background: Julia began playing the Euphonium aged 8 - she had a choice of onstruments and wasnted ' the biggest one' yet she could hardly carry it home from school! Julia was taught by her perapatetic teacher, David Walton, for the next 10 years - he was her inspiration! Julia achieved Grade 6 on the Euphonium and aloso Grae 7 singing. Julia played until she went to uni at 18 and didn't play again for 13 years when she came to Tewkesbury Town Band in 2007.

Which Bands / Ensembles do you (have you) played with on a regular basis? Whilst she was at school, Julia played with school bands and The City of Sunderland Youth Brass Band for 10 years. She currently plays with Tewkesbury Town Band and sings with Tewkesbury Choral Society.

What has been your most outstanding banding experience to date? 1. Winning lots of trophies at the Phoenix festival (2007)! 2. Playing a piece written / commissioned from Elgar Howarth when Sunderland became a city. 3. Going on band tours to Holland, France, Italy, Germany - it was so much fun!

What is the best advice you have received? Enjoy it! Oh, and practise!

What are your favourite pieces of music that you have played? Too many to mention, as its winter, Troika and Ski Sunday!

Who is your favourite performer and why? Martin Warner!

What are your musical ambitions? To improve!

Anything else...? I have 2 lovely boys, a French and Spanish Degree and I like wine!!
