Mark has been playing with Tewkesbury Town Band since 1990, playing different parts within the cornet section depending on where his skills were required most. Mark’s two daughters, Grace and Lucy, have followed in his footsteps as they are members of the Training Band as well. Mark’s wife, Penny, has also recently joined them as she has begun to learn the Tenor Horn. Mark began playing whilst at secondary school near Rugby where he was taught by Mr John Berryman and he played with Bilton Silver Band. On leaving school he joined the RAF where he has worked ever since in numerous locations including Washington DC in the ‘90’s. He has played with many brass bands on his travels and also has a keen interest in hockey where he acts as an umpire.
