2008 Questionnaire Musical Background: Started learning the Cornet with his Grandad when he was 7 years old. Then he came to the Training Band where he was taught by Helen and Hadrian Walters. William has also been taught by John Doyle, Michelle Ibbotson, Mark Wilkinson, Chris Howley, David Childs and Owen Farr. ...not a bad list of names there!! Which Bands / Ensembles do you (have you) played with on a regular basis? Tewkesbury Town Intermediate and Senior Bands, TTB Beginner Band on Drums, Flowers Youth, National Children's Brass Band of Great Britain, Chosen Hill Senior Jazz and Junior Jazz on drums. What has been your most outstanding banding experience to date? Germany Tour 2007 with Tewkesbury Town Band and the National Children's Band courses 2007 & 2008. What is the best advice you have received? "Practise what you can't play, not what you can!" What are your favourite pieces of music that you have played? Dream Catchers by Paul Lovatt Cooper (National Children's Band 2007) and Lydian Pictures by Simon Dobson (Butlins 4th Section Test piece 2008) What are your favourite pieces of music to listen to (brass band)? Rococo Variations (Open Test Piece 2008), Napoli, Zelda, Pie Jesu, Toccata in D Minor, Kim What are your favourite pieces of music to listen to (any genre)? Linkin Park (Numb), Nickelback (Photograph), Flow Ride Who is your favourite performer and why? David Child's because he's a brilliant player. What are your musical ambitions? To become a great player and play for a top band on the top spot. Any other information? I love a good gadget and a good game of football! Thanks William!
